Over the past week we have learned about gender and how our society tries to push us to either one side of the spectrum or the other. Where their can't be anything in between like being gay or bisexual. The agents of socialization play a role in my experience from when I was a kid I was taught to be very manly and if I wasn't I was out of the social norm. I remember my parents would always tell me when I used to cry "don't be a girl, you can handle it your a man". Kids are taught from birth that there on one side of the spectrum or the other. Through the movie tough gusie2 I realized how much this country uses violence to get the attention of men and how much men love to watch it. Also about how people won't recognize male gender as a problem toward mass shootings and try to blame it on other things.
